The primary activity
of SADI is to disseminate information on De-materialisation.
SADI will offer you an insight into the concept of
De-materialisation, how it can be implemented at
various levels of operation to different
stake-holders of the society. SADI conducts
workshops, seminars, panel discussions, conferences,
talks, and other modes of communication to
disseminate
information on
De-materialisation.
SADI aims to
 |
raise citizens'
awareness on the positive and negative impacts
their individual consumption behaviour may have,
but also on collective responsibilities as
consumers; |
 |
create consensus
on common objectives and targets for the quality
of the environment and the quality of life in
the society; |
 |
debate on the
potential of various options to achieve an
efficient, balanced and sustainable society
through De-materialisation; |
 |
provide a forum
for rethinking on lifestyle patterns – adoption
of a lifestyle that is more resource-conscious; |
 |
show the impacts
of individual behaviours on the global
environment; |
 |
discuss the
potential of Information and Communication
Technologies (ICT) and other related
technologies that are effective tools for De-materialisation. |
SADI also proposes to
promote a wide range of goods and services based on
the concept of De-materialisation which will in turn
help in creating a De-materialised society.
Activities
Workshops
at SADI
The workshops are aimed at developing the
much-needed interest in the need for De-materialisation
and also showcase the scope of De-materialisation to
emerge as the key foundation that future business
and lifestyles will be built upon.
SADI offers a series of workshops
for corporate
houses.
These workshops will highlight the need for De-materialisation
in various industrial and corporate activities,
explore how the concept will impact their industry,
and analyze how companies could well use it to their
advantage.
Research
The SADI team engages in continual and
in-depth research on the topic of De-materialisation.
We are also involved in understanding global
perspectives on De-materialisation by studying first
hand, the economic and growth models of various
countries across the world. Specifically, examples
of the adoption of De-materialised choices in other
parts of the world (like shared cars in Europe) are
being carefully analysed and a model is being
arrived at for implementation of the same in the
Indian socio-economic context.
Conferences
and Panel Discussions
SADI invites eminent thinkers, thought leaders, and
domain experts from all walks of life to participate
in Conferences and Discussions and explore how we
can implement De-materialisation to enhance our
individual and collective lives.
Mass
Contact Programs
SADI encourages all sections of the society to take
that small but significant step towards De-materialisation
by conducting Mass Contact Programs. These
innovatively structured activities are aimed at
bringing about mass participation resulting in mass
impact and mass recall.
Newsletter
A monthly newsletter bringing you up to date with
news developments in the area of De-materialisation
and other related areas will be published every
month. It will also act as a voice to all those who
believe in a De-materialised way of life, as well as
for those new to the concept. It will also carry
contributory articles by prominent thought leaders
in the field and significant research findings in
India and abroad. |
