The SADI Trust was formed in February 2004 in
Bangalore, India in order to advocate the benefits
of De-materialisation. The Trust was formed as a
result of our concern to the ill-effects of
increasing consumption patterns, and its
corresponding impact on nature’s flow of resources.
The primary mission of SADI is to empower all
sections of the society to make conscious, informed
choices, by providing them adequate information on
the implications of each choice.
Although nature provides us with its bountiful
resources, there will come a day when the signs of
depletion might begin to show. Demands due to
consumerism, increasing population, urbanization,
lifestyle changes are becoming increasingly
disproportionate to the resources on the deck.
SADI Trust addresses these issues (among other
relevant issues) and the possible solutions to
various stake-holders of the society. We will make
ourselves heard right from individuals to large
corporates and government bodies. De-materialisation,
as a concept, is applicable to all sections of the
society; be it corporates, students, policy makers,
consumers or even the government. We also work in
tandem with NGOs involved in related areas.
The Founder
SADI Trust was founded by Umesh K Baveja. Umesh is
an Engineer (B.Tech) from the Indian Institute of
Technology (IIT), Delhi and has an MBA
degree
from the
Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), New Delhi.
During the course of his career he has had the
opportunity of working with various distinguished organisations; from holding key positions in
government trade entities, eminent consulting
organisations to heading multinational companies in
India.
De-materialisation, a radical futuristic concept,
may well alter the way economies, governments and a
society of tomorrow think and act, believes Umesh.
This was the compelling belief that inspired him to
set up the SADI Trust. He is the key spokesperson
and the face of SADI.
